My Friend Dave and New

So Lord Dave passed away on 18th February 2019, went screaming, went quick when he knew I had him in my arms. Will be mine forever now.

Welcome Two New Friends

It was decided quite quickly that the void Dave was going to leave needed to be filled as soon as possible, not to forget but to move on.
A web search was done and a picture caught an eye and 9 days later we were looking at some potential new friends and some wooly pigs.
About a week after that we had two 4 yr old lady cat’s come to join us.

Peachy is actually Peaches, I just can’t say that name. Pickle is a pickle, get’s in pickle’s which Peachy then has to investigate after Pickle has knocked everything off.
Sister’s if you’ve not guessed yet, in my world, neice’s of Dave’s.

Not Forgotten

Our friend Dave will never be forgotten.

Visual Vomit

Just a sketch I did one night, liked it, was wanting to have some fun and games and they were provided through door painting so I decided to paint mine, liked it, needed another week to finish it, first brush work in a long while.
Visual VomitEye 8 All the Hay, The Stables. Finished, will only be available for the next 6 days, getting buffed black on 2nd December 2018. Nice way to mark 3 years in the Unit.

Now a nice shade of Matt Black, might do some small pinstripe detail.

A comment on how much we are force feed information into our eyes and how sometimes it can make our eyes sick.
And I liked the sketch. The brain fart.

Work on WorkShop

Getting the workshop ‘Thermally Moisture Efficient’.
I.E. Moving away from the damp and the mould, fixing and clearing walls where possible, getting ready for a lining, frame and board.
6 month project to get it fully finished as a working space for all the things I like to do, this is an important step in getting the space working efficiently and productively.

Full wall work bench planned for that back wall.

Sort of if you like maybe next tomorrow.

6. When it gets so stupid it’s laughable, stop, re-group, focus on the important points.

Standing Proud.

A symbol of a Place. A unique gateway.
A subject I’ve meant to paint sooner.
The Bridge. Monnow Bridge.
A commission that turned into two. A fun stencil to cut.

Things not said can mean more.

Seems like everyone is jumping on the band wagon for everything that comes up.

Dita Von Tease

Perfect Fit.

This years pretty lady piece, Dita Von Tease, another one that when I saw the picture I thought about the placement on the canvas more than anything.
Was very tempted to do a cross behind, maybe in a subsequent spraying.
Also one of only two where I have started with a black background and it works really well with the colour tone.

The little bit of under spray probably actually helps it come off the black a little, I don’t think it spoils it at least.

Sharing Opinion

Delving into the whole pop art / political opinion arena whilst also creating a portrait of one of the UK’s (and the world’s) best actor’s, Sir Michael Caine.
I have a lot of respect for what this gentleman has to say about recent event’s in the UK, it’s not about race, religion or origin, it’s about a country being able to make its own decisions about what it does, funds, law’s, let’s in, let’s out.

It’s very rare that I do personnel opinion work and share it publically here but I just couldn’t bite my tounge on this one.

Playing with lot’s of things.

When I saw this photo of Clevedon Pier I immediately loved the symmetry especially after thinking of the idea of putting it on a square canvas. Also tried an idea that has been brewing to play with and separate the colour tone’s into two.
